New Running Shoes in 2026: Release Dates and Availability as of August

The 2026 running shoe calendar has moved well beyond the preview stage. All seven shoes included in our early-2026 running shoe preview have now been released, including the ASICS GEL-Nimbus 28, Nike Structure Plus, Saucony Endorphin Azura, Hoka Mach 7, Brooks Glycerin Flex, Altra Torin 9, and Topo Athletic Specter 3.

Several significant shoes that have been recently confirmed are also in the roundup. They include the New Balance Fresh Foam X 1080v15, Brooks Glycerin 23, On Cloudmonster 3, Nike Pegasus 42, Brooks Ghost 18, ASICS GEL-Kayano 33, ASICS Novablast 6, and Hoka Clifton 11.

Of the 28 notable road-running shoes tracked below, 20 have been released and eight are expected before the end of 2026.

Later-year dates should still be treated cautiously. Many future dates are estimates. For that reason, upcoming releases in this table are labelled “expected” and remain listed as “not yet released” until an official product or on-sale listing appears.

What changed during the first half of 2026

One of the biggest developments has been the number of entirely new models introduced alongside familiar annual updates. The Nike Structure Plus, Brooks Glycerin Flex, Saucony Endorphin Azura, adidas Hyperboost Edge, and Hoka Clifton Pro do not have simple one-for-one predecessors.

That distinction matters when comparing shoes. A new name does not necessarily mean it is the next version of a model a runner already owns. The Structure Plus, for example, expands Nike’s stability lineup rather than directly replacing a numbered Structure model. The Clifton Pro adds a faster option to Hoka’s Clifton family without replacing the Clifton 11.

The more conventional updates are easier to follow. The Nimbus 28 replaces the Nimbus 27, the 1080v15 follows the 1080v14, and the Ghost 18 succeeds the Ghost 17. Runners who already know that a particular model works for them can compare the new version with discounted inventory from the previous generation.

Older models frequently enter clearance or markdown cycles when their replacements arrive. The old and new versions may remain available at the same time, which can make the previous model the better purchase when the update is limited or the fit has not changed substantially.

What is still coming in 2026

The remaining calendar begins with two anticipated August releases: the Hoka Skyflow 2 and Saucony Endorphin Speed 6. September could bring the adidas Adizero Adios Pro 5 and On Cloudsurfer 3, followed by the Nike Alphafly 4 and New Balance 880v16 in October.

The final major releases currently on the schedule are the Nike Vomero 19 in November and Brooks Adrenaline GTS 27 in December. These are estimated windows rather than firm retail dates, and any of them could move into a later month or even early 2027.

Some launches begin through specialty running stores or a brand’s website before reaching Amazon and other major retailers. Nike, for example, released the Structure Plus through specialty stores before its wider retail launch.
